The Genting Group may have failed to bring a casino to Miami, but that hasn’t stopped them from tapping into the local market. It appears that when they can’t build a casino into the town, Genting wants to do the next most useful thing: bring the city to their nearest casino.
Looking for Port Agreement with Miami
That’s why Genting is seeking to enter an understanding with Port Miami that will allow the company to run a small cruise ship from the slot. The ship, which would be able to carry more than 1,500 people, would run from Miami to a new casino in Bimini that Genting recently opened. The trip would take no more than two hours, and would enable Genting to utilize a gambling market that is lucrative.
The move comes after Genting failed in a bid to open a casino in Miami it self. The business bought the former headquarters associated with the Miami Herald in 2011, hoping to construct a casino in the site. However, anticipated changes to convey video gaming regulations did not materialize, meaning the casino project must be abandoned. Genting still plans on utilising the site to build a hotel and residential complex underneath the true name Resorts World Miami.
